MONOGRAPH OF PALILULA FOR THE PRESIDENT OF SERBIAN PARLIAMENT

President of City Municipality of Palilula, Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic handed zero release of monograph of City Municipality of Palilula, Dr Slavica Djukic – Dejanovic, President of Serbian Parliament, who was in one – day visit to City of Nis and Palilula Municipality. On this occasion, President Novakovic informed President of Serbian Parliament about importance of this publishing project, which will appear June 3rd within traditional manifestation of culture “Palilula Night”, and to the promotion of City Municipality of Palilula in Region. According to reviewer Prof. Dr Dragan Nikolic and Prof. Dr Miomir Naumovic, “Monograph “NIS`PALILULA”, by author Jovica Vasic, represent one rounded whole which on the best way reflects past and present of Palilula Municipality, but and spread observed, it is significant contribute to better knowing and history of Nis.” This Monograph graphically designed Mile Radicevic, with numerous documents and photographs by Miroslav Lavrencevic, Jovan Surdilovic, Branislav Tikic, Dragan Vidojkovic, Milan Stojanovic, Jovan Ilic, which illustrate decade rapid development of Palilula.

BICYCLE WITH A BASKET FOR THE FAMILY OF OSMAN KURTIC

In cooperation with Roma organization Center for Active Communication President of Assembly of City Municipality of Palilula Milan Djurdjevic and member of Municipal Council Milos Stojkovic handed third bicycle with a basket for collecting recyclable materials to Osman Kurtic from settlement Delijski Vis. This is part of the action within project “Strengthening of Municipal capacity to improve the quality of life for socially vulnerable groups” from program Exchange 3. City Municipality of Palilula is from 16th to 19th of May handed three bicycles with basket for collection of recyclable materials, to the most vulnerable Roma population. According to President of Palilula Municipality Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic, this activity has social component and providing that persons of Roma population who collects waste on territory of Palilula Municipality, do that on modern way, not polluting the environment.Osman already three years engaging in collecting waste paper. With his wife Usnija and three minor children lives in the street Hilandarski Metoh.

SECURED 80 MILLION FOR THE TURNTABLE AND THE STREET IN NOVO SELO

This week in Palilula Municipality will be enrolled as a great success of management and residents of this organization of local self government and City of Nis in achieving infrastructural projects that were discussed and promised for years but works never to start. It is big pleasure that today, in the presence of my colleague, management of the City, management of PE Roads of Serbia, Enterprise for Roads Nis, I can announce beginning of works on the regulation of turntable near the Court of Appeals and the street “Toplicki Partizanski Odredi” in Novo Selo – said at a ceremony Prof Dr Igor Novakovic, President of City Municipality of Palilula. Value of this works, in first phase, is about 80 million of RSD. President of Palilula Municipality is on this occasion gave recognition of Municipality, to the Zoran Drobnjak, Director of public enterprise “Roads of Serbia” and expressed appreciation for support to initiative of Municipality and to Branko Ruzic, member of Parliament and Chief of deputy group SPS – JS.

STUDENTS FACILITATE TRAFFIC ON PALILULA`S RAMP

Group of students of Faculty of Electronic Engineering of University of Nis supported by the Program “Partnership for Education and Community Development” (PECD program) and company Philip Morris Operations a.d. developed a wireless system of signalization which facilitates traffic on one of the busiest Nis`s crossroads – Palilula`s ramp. On this occasion in the Laboratory on Faculty of Electronic Engineering in the presence of numerous guests and students, simulated the operation of equipment which will on May 26th be located on the crossroad.Project presented Valentino Nikolic, leader of the project in the presence of docent Dr Zoran Jovanovic, mentor of the project, professor Dr Dragan Antic dean of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering, professor Dr Igor Novakovic, President of City Municipality of Palilula, Vladislav Ivkovic, head of Administration for Communal Services, Energy and Traffic of the City and Danijela Marvic, coordinator of PECD program.

SECOND BICYCLE HANDED TO THE FAMILY RUSITOVIC

President of City Municipality of Palilula, Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic with associates, handed SECOND equipped bicycle, for collecting waste, to NEDIJA RUSITOVIC (single mother with four children) who lives in the street Stocni trg 27.This activity is achieving within project “Strengthening of Municipal capacity to improve the quality of life for socially vulnerable groups”, from program Exchange 3, City Municipality of Palilula, this week (from 16th to 19th of May) will share three bicycles with a basket for collecting secondary row materials, to the most vulnerable persons of Roma population. According to the President Novakovic, action have social component and provides that persons of Roma population, which collects waste on the territory of Palilula Municipality, do that on the modern way.

IGRAFFITI AND ENCOURAGING ETHNIC INTOLERANCE

Writing graffiti on the Memorial Park of executed citizens in Second World War on the Bubanj, again caused a public reaction. Reacted and Center for Active Communication and Committee for Human Rights of Roma with request to remove “discriminatory graffiti”. On this occasion in Memorial Park “Bubanj” gathered representatives of management of Palilula Municipality, organization of civil society and media. According to Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic, City Municipality of Palilula filed a criminal complaint, to Primary prosecution in Nis, against unknown persons, due suspicion that it was on the Memorial Complex of executed patriots in Memorial Park “Bubanj” wrote words intended to invoke racial, religious and national freezing and encourages discrimination. “In this area fascist are in retaliation executed Serbs, Jews and Roma. Today neo fascists by unacceptable messages trying to spread hatred and animosity among the residents of Palilula- highlighted President Novakovic.

EXHIBITION AND FESTIVAL OPENED

Photo exhibition “Nis on the European Road” and second, film manifestation “Days of European Film” organized on occasion of celebration of Europe Day – Day of Victory over Fascism, opened in Nis` Cultural Center Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic, President of City Municipality of Palilula. He expressed satisfaction because this events in culture is held under patronage and on the territory of Palilula Municipality, which is as organization of local self government clearly in its strategies of development defined its European path of development. “Ethnically and religiously Palilula Municipality is heterogeneous area on which territory live more then 15 national communities – national minorities. They live in mutual respect and tolerance.” President Novakovic especially thanked his colleagues, presidents of municipalities Medijana and Pantelej because they supported organizers of event: French Institute in Nis, Nis` Cultural Center and Media Center Nis.

EUROPEAN POLICY LIFELONG LEARNING

On the call of TAEKS department of General Directorate of European Commission for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy, member of the Council of City Municipality of Palilula Zorica Stoiljkovic, participated on the conference in Brussels from 1st May to 4th May 2011th. Theme of this conference was “ Professional Development”.Serbian delegation in Brussels consisted four more representatives of local self government (from Valjevo, Ub, Pirot and Kanizsa), as and representatives of other countries of West Balkan. Goal of this conference was that to the representatives of Committee of Region transfer experiences about Serbian educational system but that and representatives of countries of West Balkan meet with European policy of lifelong learning, professional development and training, with examples of reform of public administration, by decision – making process in European Union, as and educational policies.

LARGE ACTION – OF ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

Sunny day and even more powerful motive to take part in action of spring cleaning and arranging of Memorial Complex of park “Bubanj”, under the motto “I am 7th May on Bubanj, and you?” gathered previous weekend in Nis, on the same task, over 1500 citizens – volunteers, students, soldiers, employees of local administrations and public institutions of City of Nis. At the invitation of the host, President of City Municipality of Palilula Professor Dr Igor Novakovic, action supported City of Nis but and Ministry of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning, Military of Serbia. In early morning hours, in Memorial “Three Fists” on the Bubanj, came and Mayor of Nis Mr Milos Simonovic, President of City Municipality of Medijana, Dragoslav Cirkovic, Director of campaign Clean up the Serbia Milan Kindjic.

FACE OF EUROPEAN PALILULA

Aesthetic and inter – space arrangement of   space in City Municipality of Palilula, is part of everyday activities of management of this organization of local self government of City of Nis. The meet holding the traditional manifestation “Palilula Night 2011” will be promoted several projects which will contribute achieving the set goal. At the Palilula Ramp, was removed the metal fence and this “ pedestrian island” decorated with jardinière with flowers. This part of settlement visited President  of Municipality professor Dr Igor Novakovic with head of Municipal administration associate Slavoljub Savic. In the meeting with journalists, on the “pedestrian island” across the Palilula Ramp, President Novakovic announced arrangement of traffic light poles at intersections around Palilula Ramp as and setting ultrasonic sensors, display and IVR systems for blind and visually impaired persons.

I AM 7TH MAY ON BUBANJ, AND YOU?

Within program of National campaign “Clean up the Serbia” and worlds ecological campaign “Clean up the World 2011”, Saturday, 7th May, in Memorial Park “Bubanj” in Nis, under patronage of City Municipality of Palilula and support of Ministry of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning, will be held big action of spring cleaning and arranging of this memorial complex, under the motto “I am 7th May on Bubanj, and you?”. Goal of this action is removing lay stall and dump and arranging green surfaces of Memorial Park Bubanj. “Why Memorial Park Bubanj?” – Because it is the nearest resort of the people from Nis. – Because we love our city and we want to enjoy in clean environment.”On this occasion, in MEDIA CENTER OF NIS was held PRESS CONFERENCE. About program of activities spoke representatives of management of Palilula Municipality and coalition of organizations of civil society, institutions and organizations, which will take part in Saturday in arranging of Memorial Park “Bubanj”.

CONSUL JURUKOV AND PRESIDENT OF MUNICIPALITY NOVAKOVIC,
LAID FLOWERS AT THE A MEMORIAL MAUSOLEUM

At the invitation of the General Consulate of Republic of Bulgaria in Nis, president of City Municipality of Palilula, Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic and Consul Nikolay Yurukov, within presence of representatives of organizations and associations of Bulgarian national minority in Nis, laid flowers on Memorial Mausoleum of Bulgarian Armed Forces which is located on the territory of Palilula Municipality in the settlement Ledena Stena.Memorial Mausoleum is raised in 1948th and it is buried about 2500 thousands members of Bulgarian armed forces (Second Bulgarian Army) killed in the final part of the fight against German invaders on the territory of former SFRY.Institute for Cultural Heritage Preservation in Nis is 2005th made project of restoration and conservation of this memorial. During the activity of support to the project in the relevant ministries of Government of Bulgaria and Government of Serbia, as and support of the donors.
